Let Guardian Tracking be the solution. Many police agencies have now had the opportunity to see Guardian Tracking in action and the response has been very encouraging. One police official reported Guardian Tracking is the best tool she has seen for identifying early intervention issues. Our reports will give you an immediate snapshot of the types of incidents being documented on a particular employee. You can also query the software for specific types of incidents which might indicate the need for early intervention. We are already working to improve what we believe is an awesome benefit to any agency. In the next few months, we plan to roll out an update to the software which will allow you to custom manage data related to early intervention. This new update will alert management when an employee has reached certain “thresholds” as defined by their own agency.

Leon and I have been on the job collectively for over 60 years. During the past few weeks, I've begun to realize something as we discuss our software and demonstrate it for police officers from various agencies. What I'm finding is this: there have been so many advancements in law enforcement during the past 30 odd years, but the way in which we collect and store performance related information isn't one of them. Our equipment (body armor, weapons, etc.) have improved dramatically over the years. The same holds true for our training and the tactics we employ on the street. We have even seen incredible advances in communications, computer aided dispatching, and computerized records systems. But, when it comes to documenting performance related data...we are still using the same methods used by our fathers and grandfathers. We believe our software will offer something revolutionary. The software is amazingly simple to operate, but on the other hand provides some very complex and beneficial services that any department can use. When we get the software in front of people it actually sells itself.

Development is going great, and we look forward to the rest of October. The Features page is now updated with real screen shots and we finally have the pricing information up on the Ordering page. We also added a page laying out why you need GaurdianTracking for your department.

Having a Beta ready by Mid-September is looking very likely. I finished implanting the ability to have subsequent entries to an incident an am moving on to linking incidents together. Next in line will be the ability to attach documents to an incident. This feature will bring the application a long way and may even help departments use the software has a soft employee folder.
Hopefully, I will be updating the screen shots section of the web site soon. I’ll post some here as well.

The idea has been thrown around about the possibility offering offsite hosting of GaurdianTracking. The system is defiantly a candidate since it’s going to be completely browser based. And since I am going to build the system in such a fashion that it could demonstrated on our servers, why not take it the extra step?
Well, the question becomes would departments be comfortable having a third party company host their employee documentation? Leo and Mike say no, and I have no idea. I myself am a big fan of off site hosting because it has so many benefits. The customer gets up and running very quickly and they also get all the updates to the software automatically. It’s usually a great way to offer the software at a lower price as well. The downside of course is that you are also hosting semi-secure data on an offsite server.
But if the server was secure and backups were guaranteed, would some department consider it? At any rate the software will always be downloadable for deployment on the customer’s local servers. But I will likely go ahead and stub in for offsite hosting possibilities, as it won’t add much work if we decide to try it. At the very least, it will give us a great way for customers to try before they buy.
